“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller.

At Cedar Mill, our volunteer team includes both Leadership Volunteers and Support Volunteers — and we truly couldn’t run our programs without both. Both roles are equally important, and we encourage everyone to get involved in the way that best fits their time, interests, and comfort level. Every hour makes a difference!

All volunteers need to apply through the district/Raptor for a background check.

Apply to Volunteer through the Beaverton School District.

Even if you have volunteered through the Beaverton School District in the past, ALL volunteers will need to reapply through the new volunteer management system, Raptor. Please click here to apply to volunteer through the Beaverton School District.

Support volunteers

Support Volunteers provide essential hands-on help that brings these programs to life — whether it's checking out books in the library, assisting with Art Literacy lessons, helping at school events, or prepping materials for classrooms.

Support Volunteers can find and sign up for opportunities on ParentSquare. Only approved volunteers in Raptor should sign up for opportunities.

To check in for your volunteer shift at the school, please have your Government-issued ID or Raptor Passport ready. Please notify the front desk of your destination.

Once you’re signed in to Parent Square:

  • On a desktop/laptop, look for the Sign-ups & RSVPs section on the right of the screen. Click View All. All of the sign-ups available to you will be listed.

  • On the Beaverton ParentSquare mobile app, click the three dots that say More on the bottom right of your screen. Then click Sign-ups & RSVPs, then click AllSign-ups. All of the sign-ups available to you will be listed.

Leadership volunteers

Leadership Volunteers take on planning and coordination roles, such as organizing events, managing ongoing programs, or serving on the PTC Board. They help set the direction and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

These roles can be shared between two or more people, so if you prefer to team up with a friend or divide responsibilities, we encourage it! One of the benefits of these roles is that leaders often create their own schedules, allowing flexibility to fit around other commitments.

This school year would be a great time to shadow current leads and learn how things work in a low-pressure way.
