After-School Programs

The PTC works with independent companies who provide fun after-school activities at Cedar Mill Elementary. These activities are not affiliated with the school or the PTC and enrollment in classes is made directly with each provider. Students who are enrolled can be dismissed directly to the activities located in the Cedar Mill Elementary building if coordinated with the teacher in advance.

Chess Wizards

Mondays, 3:05-4:00pm, Oct. 5 through Dec. 14 in the school library for grades K-5

Chess Wizards is an exciting after-school program where students of all skill levels can sharpen their minds, make new friends, and have fun. From beginners learning the basics to experienced players looking for fresh challenges, Chess Wizards offers engaging lessons, friendly tournaments, and creative team activities that help kids grow their skills and confidence—one move at a time. $234 for the Fall session with 28 slots available. Whimsy Wees Art Studio

Tuesdays, 3:05-4:00pm, Oct. 6 through Dec. 15 in the STEAM classroom for grades K-5

The Whimsy Wees Art Enrichment Program gives students the opportunity to spend their afternoon creating, exploring, and building confidence through hands-on art projects. Each project focuses on one or more of the 7 Elements of Art, helping kids develop their artistic skills while having fun and expressing their creativity. Fall term for 10 classes is $250. USTA-PNW  Tennis After School Zone (TAZ)

Tuesdays, 3:05-4:00pm, Oct. 13 through Nov. 17 in the gym for grades 1-3

The USTA PNW will host six Tennis Afterschool Zone (TAZ) sessions to provide a fun, convenient way to keep children engaged and moving after school. Open to grades 1-3 this program uses kid-friendly equipment, combines fun games, teamwork, and skill-building activities to develop tennis fundamentals, motor skills and confidence. $60 for six sessions. Play.Fit.Fun

Wednesdays, 3:05-4:00pm, Oct. 7 through Dec. 16 on the school playground for grades K-5

If you heard about more exciting times at recess last year, that is thanks to the team at Play.Fit.Fun., who also offers an after-school kids’ action class packed with energy, teamwork, and excitement! This enrichment program offers students a lively mix of PE, Field Day games, summer camp challenges, Minute-to-Win-It contests, and team-building activities. Our motto is “PLAY = POWER!  Activity…Agility…Fun Interactive Games: Your child will have the opportunity to have fun, stay fit, get in better shape until it’s time to go home!"  $185 for the October - December session. Engineering for Kids

Session 1:  Chemical Engineering: Mysteries of Matter 

Thursdays, 3:05-4:00, Sept. 24 to Nov. 5 in the STEAM classroom for ages 7-12

Introduce your kids into an exciting expedition through the world of molecules and reactions. This program is designed to ignite curiosity and inspire discovery while exploring topics such as chemical engineering, states of matter, physical properties, chemical change, and acidity. Using hands-on projects and the EFK Engineering Design Process, students will unravel the mysteries of matter and discover the underlying principles shaping our universe.  Designed for ages 7-12. $130 tuition per student for five sessions with 15 available spots. Engineering for Kids

Session 2:  Electrical Engineering: High Voltage Hijinks

Thursdays, 3:05-4:00, Nov. 5 to Dec. 17 in the STEAM classroom for ages 7-12

Get powered-up for an energetic week of electrical engineering! In this camp kids will learn how to generate power using electromagnets, electrical circuits, wind turbines, and solar panels. Students will take on exciting, hands-on engineering challenges and put their creations to the test using the EFK Engineering Design Process. Designed for ages 7-12. $156 tuition per student for six sessions with 15 available spots. Register today! 

Northwest Children’s Theater Club: Create your own Superhero

Fridays, 3:05-4:00pm, Sept. 11 to Dec. 18, in the gym for grades K-2

What's that in the sky? It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's a BRAND NEW SUPERHERO!  In this class, students will get to create their very own superhero character complete with: a super secret identity, special powers, and super cool costume design (mask and capes provided). We will guide them through the creation and design process and then teach them how to bring their characters to life through performance! This class will have an informal demonstration for families during the last 15 minutes of the final class day. $135 for the Fall term with a class max of 12 students so register today!
