FAQs

How can I learn about the programs and volunteer opportunities at Cedar Mill?

Check out our Find Opportunities page for information about Leadership and Support positions.

Will I need to be a part of the Cedar Mill database to volunteer for the 5th grade celebration?

Yes.  Head to our Volunteer page for instructions on how to begin volunteering at Cedar Mill.

If I request my volunteer profile to be transferred to Cedar Mill, does it remove my profile from the other school(s)?

No, you may have volunteer profiles at more than one school. Log into your Raptor account and add Cedar Mill Elementary in your profile.

I do not plan to volunteer anymore and would like to be removed from Cedar Mill’s Volunteer Database.

You can manage your schools in your Raptor account. Log into your Raptor account and remove Cedar Mill Elementary in your profile.

I want to volunteer at the school, but do not want to receive your emails. Can I be removed from your email distribution list?

No, unfortunately, we do not have the ability to remove you from our mailing list. All communications are done through ParentSquare. You can manage your communication preferences in your ParentSquare profile.

I’ve signed up to volunteer for an event. Where do I go and what should I do?

When you arrive at school, you will sign in at the tablet in the front office. You will need your government issued ID or your Raptor Passport (via the Raptor Safe app). Once signed in, a badge will be printed for you. When you complete your volunteer shift, you will use your badge to sign out on the tablet.

How do I get a volunteer badge with my name on it?

Once you sign in on the tablet in the front office, a badge will automatically be printed with your name and photo.

I'm volunteering for a teacher or staff member and I don't see an activity for me to select when I sign in.

The sign-in tablet will ask you to select your destination. “Classroom” is one of the selections. Please notify the front office staff of your specific destination after sign-in.

I signed up for a volunteer shift, but my plans changed and I can no longer volunteer.

Most volunteer opportunities in the system will allow you to cancel your volunteer shift up to 4 hours beforehand. Go to the event in ParentSquare, click on your name, and it will give you the option to cancel. If you are unable to cancel your shift, we would appreciate it if you sent us an email at volunteercoord@cedarmillptc.org to let us know.
